This month’s kit is called Jolly Gingerbread…it makes some cute little gift card holders…here’s what they look like…

Junebug Creations Paper Pumpkin Nov.2020

After I made 1 of each of the contents, I started surfing the internet for inspiration on what I could do with my contents of this kit. There were so many, it was almost overwhelming! 🙂 I remembered that we had made gingerbread houses at Christmas a few times…so I dug around in my Christmas pictures and found some…then I looked for a scrapbooking challenge to help inspire me…and found this one from Scrap Our Stash. I don’t think I have ever entered anything in their challenges because I haven’t scrapped for quite awhile, but I know I am missing it and so I needed this to spur me on.

And here is my interpretation…

Junebug Creations Paper Pumpkin Alternate

I found some water color paper in the Playing with Patterns DSP pack and I used a chipboard circle from my stash and covered it with a sheet of the DSP. I also did some water coloring with an Aqua Painter. I backed the pictures with Cinnamon Cider cardstock and used a 12×12 sheet of Daffodil Delight cardstock from the Brights collection for the base page. I used the Playful Alphabet with foam backing on it for the title. WOWZA! The new Stampin’ Cut & Embossing machine really did cut through the paper and the foam!! I was amazed! It’s gonna be a new favorite, I can tell!

I used a gingerbread house and the candies from the Paper Pumpkin kit, as well as the label. I really like how this turned out. Even though it is not a traditionally colored Christmas page, it really works with the colorfulness of the candies in the pictures. What do you think? I would love to read your comments!

That is it for me…time to hop on over to Tricia Butts’ blog and see what fun alternate she came up with! Click the button and keep on hopping!
