Global Stamping Friends Back to School

Hello, Hello!

It is the first Friday of the month, so that means it is time to HOP around the world with the amazing and talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators in the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! I really enjoy hopping with these ladies! They are inspirational!

This month, our theme is Back to School! My son is going to be a Senior this year! Man, where has the time gone?! I was thinking that I should do some Thank You card sets for his teachers. I have been wanting to do them all through HS, but time always got away from me. This theme gave me the perfect reason to finally design something.

I printed out the logo on our Basic White cardstock and then cut it out with my snips. Since the colors are Green and Gold, I used Garden Green and Crushed Curry cardstock for the base and the layer. I ran the Crushed Curry through the Painted Textures embossing folder and the Garden Green layer I ran through the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and then cut it using the largest Scalloped Contour Die. That is a new favorite die set of mine!

Then I used Basic White cardstock to stamp the Thank You from the Peaceful Moments stamp set using both the Garden Green and the Crushed Curry to make the shadow look. These stamps are not photopolymer, so I was pretty proud of myself for getting it so perfect! Even my son was impressed with my skills! 🙂 I also ran the cardstock through the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder at an angle so the rows of bricks would line up when I put the two together. Make sure you stamp first! Then I put the Bulldog on with dimensionals! I also used the “binder die” from the Blossoming Happiness dies set! Another new favorite of mine and so perfect for this card! I didn’t put a picture, but I also used the binder die on the inside piece of white cardstock.
