Hello, Hello!
How you are all doing? I am marvelous! Been crafting/playing in my studio all week guilt free! Can’t beat that! I am still doing the online ESL teaching in the early morning hours and then into my studio after getting my son set up for his school day. I’m lucky and blessed to have a self-motivated Sophomore in the house, but I like to get him some nibbles and smoothie to keep him nourished while on the computer for school 2 days a week. The other days I am helping get him out the door with his lunch!
Then…it is my time to create and play in my studio! Love it! I am not subbing for the rest of this semester so that I can focus on my Stampin’ Up! classes and club. That also means I will get to do more posts to share with you all that I am creating and teaching! Isn’t that great?! Ok, I hear some of you asking if I have been working on this site…umm…I’m going to! I promise!
2 days ago I was preparing for an upcoming Zoom card class and I went a little overboard and way beyond simple. I had started looking at some of the challenges that I have enjoyed doing in the past and decided to go for it. I found CAS Colours & Sketches colour challenge and loved the idea of doing a non-traditional colored Christmas card. I chose the Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I had also used the sketch from Fab Friday…but I missed the deadline for getting my blog post done in time for their challenge. Next time I will pay closer attention to the time, as well as the date! Lesson learned!
Here are the colours and the sketch
And here is my card…
Besides the Blackberry Bliss, Purple Posy, and Basic Gray, I also used the Plush Poinsettia Specialty Paper for one of the banners and I used the dies from the set to cut out the white berries. I also used the Beaded Pearls for the center of my poinsettia. When I first saw them in the catalog I thought they were kind of gaudy…but then I got them and have used them and love them! Need to order more actually! I’ve actually chosen this card to be be part of my Elegant Christmas card class coming in December. Want more info on that Email me june@junebug-creations.com and I will get the card class info to you!
Lastly, a touch of Wink of Stella for the gray berries and the petals of my flower. I couldn’t resist! Christmas has to sparkle, right?!
That is it for today! I will be back soon!
Thank you for joining me on this crafting journey! You help make it fun! See you next time!
Blessings, June
