Hello, Hello!
I was rolling last night in the craft room! I made 5 cards in a few hours! Many of them matched up to a challenge or 2 and the Blog Hop you just saw. I have all day free today, so I want to get them all blogged and head back to the craft room for some more! Lots of challenges out there that get my creative juices flowing! Gotta get my mind in my happy place before a kinda yucky dentist appointment that I will be at while you are reading this. 🙁
I like adding sketch challenges and color challenges together! The spark they create is so fun to feel and flow with!
First is the Color Throwdown Challenge Blog
Then I found a sketch from Try Stampin’ – Or Not – On Tuesday.
This is not a color combo I usually use, so it was a nice challenge for me to see what I could come up with! The sketch helped! I got my Occasions Catalog order last week and it had this wonderful stamp set and framelits in it…so perfect for a masculine birthday card…Geared Up Garage and Garage Gears thinlits Bundle…
With my husband and many of his friends being such gear heads, I knew I had to have this set! He even says it looks like a cool set! As much as he would like to fish, we never get out there and do it, so there was no reason to buy that set. But, he is always fiddling with his truck, the snowmobiles, or any other machine he owns, so this one made much more sense! Do you have a “gear head” or “wrenching” male in your life? If you do, you NEED this set like me!
Here is my card…
For the brown in the color challenge, I used this wood grain paper from the Wood Textures DSP…it is so perfect for the masculine cards we all need to make! I used Whisper White cardstock for the base of the card and for stamping the classic car on. I stamped the car with Tuxedo Black ink and used the thinlit to cut it out on the Big Shot. I also used the black in to stamp the sentiment. Wasn’t sure if it would show up enough, but it seemed to…thankfully! I added the black Shimmer Ribbon behind the card instead of cutting a strip of paper. A smidge of bling won’t bother a real man. 😉
That’s it for today! Time to head back to the craftroom and make more things to share with you! Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!
Blessings, June

Thank you! It was a simple card to make… don’t know why I struggle with masculine ones.
Well you did great with this one. I personally love doing masculine and really getting that grungy rough look that I dont really use on my more feminine cards.
