An Animal Outing Double Challenge

Hello, Hello!

I recently got this great stamp set during the Online Extravaganza called Animal Outing. It is so adorable and also comes with the Animal Friends Thinlit dies as a bundle…yep, gotta love Bundles! (click on the picture if you gotta have it, too!)

I have been wanting to make a card using this set and just wasn’t getting a color combo idea in my head, so off to The Color Throwdown Challenge site, I went! And they had this great color combo that I probably wouldn’t have thought of myself!

For my colors I used So Saffron, Old Olive, and Basic Black, plus I needed Smokey Slate (you’ll see why).

Then, I figured I needed a sketch to really help my creative juices roll, so I went to CAS(E) this Sketch, another favorite challenge blog of mine, and found this lovely sketch:

And then the creative juices started pouring out of my head and I came up with this card that I think is so stinking cute!!

I ended up turning it on it’s side and then it just came together and I love it! What do you think? Isn’t that rhino a cutie?

For the card base and branches I used Old Olive cardstock. I used Versamark for the background inking of the branches. So Saffron cardstock for the sentiment portion and the bird on the rhino’s horn. Then I used Basic Black cardstock for the Stitched Cirlce Framelit, another regularly used and favorite framelit set! Plus, I used Tuxedo Black ink for the distressing around the card base, smudging of the sentiment piece, and for the sentiment itself. Then I added Smokey Slate cardstock for the rhino cutout and Basic Gray ink for the rhino image.

Well? Let me know what you think of this card! I haven’t done a sentiment on the inside yet because I am thinking of making it a Valentine’s card…the sentiment makes me think of that…we’ll see! Oh, and speaking of which…this stamp set will coordinate with the upcoming Paper Pumpkin kit for January…so subscribe now and don’t miss out! More info below so check it out!!

That’s it for now. Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!

Blessings, June
