Hello, Hello!
Merry Christmas to you all! I trust it has been an enjoyable day for you! We have been relaxing and playing all day in our pajamas! Gotta love a pj day! I made some more cards that I will share this week!
One way for me to keep the holiday time fun and not so stressful is to keep creating! After the last posted card, I was tidying up my things to go to dinner with my son and husband and saw this card from the Swap that I participated in a couple of months ago. It is from Theresa Panny.
And, BAM! I got such an overwhelming desire to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) that card right then and there! An idea and popped into my head and I had to give it a whirl right away before it was gone! I sent the boys off to bring dinner home while I made this card!
I really loved how she showcased the bow, which I don’t have, and how the DSP was allowed to shine. I just knew I had to follow this wonderfully styled layout! I have had some other great ideas to do for birthday cards as well…you know I will show them off here when I get them done! 😉
Here is my version of the card using the ornament from the Beautiful Baubles thinlits that I have not seen used much! (psst…that set is in the Holiday Catalog which ends Jan. 2nd, order it now if you want it!)
I made the ornament in cardstock colors Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, and Whisper White by running it through the Big Shot. Then I realized as I layered them that I needed something solid. So, I took the small pieces from the Cherry Cobbler and the Garden Green and filled them into the Whisper White. Good thing I like puzzles! This was not easy for all pieces! A few were pretty tricky. I put tape on the back side of the white ornament and pressed the little buggers into the tape to make them stick. And it worked! Yay!
I tied the three ornaments with Silver & Whisper White Baker’s Twine and used dimensionals to keep it in place. Of course, before I did all that, I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock as my base and cut and adhered a piece of Dashing Along DSP at an angle over the card top. I think that is one of the design elements that I liked the most about Theresa’s card! Then I added the sentiment at the bottom to tie it all together. I chose to leave the red ribbon off the sides, because I liked it without for my card. I am getting more into Clean and Simple cards, it seems. Although, at times they are more challenging to create than “busy” ones. LOL
Anyway, this turned out to be one of my favorite cards this year! Besides the purple snow globe…love my purple! If you missed it you can see it here.
This is the last Christmas card I will showcase for this year…I think…maybe…I’m kinda still on a roll! Hahaha! I am going to be doing some of the Christmas Challenge Blogs each week in 2019, so you’ll see more. Maybe by the time I get to next Christmas, I won’t be cramming so hard! I didn’t even get to send cards to everyone, there just wasn’t enough time. Some assembly lining will be in order for next year, I think! My goal is to have most of my cards made before Thanksgiving! I do say that almost every year, but for 2019, I’m going to really work on it! You’ll see!
Thank you for reading and taking this crafting journey with me! It’s nice to have you along! Enjoy your Stampin’, Scrappin’, and Craftin’ journey and feel free to share and CASE with me! I love to see what others create!
Blessings, June
