A Petal Promenade from SU!

Hello, again!

See, I am on a roll! It’s still Saturday night and I am getting blogs caught up! WooHoo!!

One last card that I made with the DSP that was on sale last month…yeah, sorry, it’s not anymore. You can still get it…just not the special. There is a different special running though that would certainly help you out with getting all the lovely DSP (Designer Series Paper) that SU! offers…buy $50 worth of product in August and you get a $5 coupon to redeem in September. Check it out here.

This card was completely from scratch! No sketch, no challenge, nothing but my own little creative brain at work…ok, not little, I have a big brain full of ideas! 🙂

I used one of the sentiment squares from the paper as my focal point. I kept it simple, yet it also came out elegant because of the amazing Petal Promenade DSP!

The sentiment stamped in Mossy Meadow comes from the Enjoy Life stamp set! A new favorite of mine! Used it for a card swap I did earlier this summer…oops, I guess I need to blog about that too! Darn! I am further behind in sharing what I have been up to this summer than I thought! I did lots of paper crafting this summer! Lots of blog posts coming…get ready!

The cardstock base is 8.5 x 5.5 inches. A standard A2 card. It is scored differently than usual. I needed to break out of my box of humdrum. It is scored at 2 3/4 inches and 7 inches. The two folded ends meet in the middle…not middle of the card, but meet across the card. The square sentiment is overlapping both sides. Adhere it only to the top flap. You can use either flap as the top…it’s up to you. I chose to use the bigger flap as my top. You could also turn this on it’s side and do a side opening card. Whatever you wish. I may do a few more and give the other options a whirl. When I do…I’ll be sure to tell you about it!

Base cardstock is Mossy Meadow, a returning color to the collection. So glad they brought it back!! I also ran the two top flaps through the Big Shot using the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing folder. Then I used Fresh Fig under the sentiment as a frame. Didn’t do a very thick frame as I wanted the flowers from the paper to stand out more than the cardstock frame. I used the Grapefruit Grove Natures Twine for across the top to add a little pop of color.

Again, a simple Thank you card that turned out elegant.

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday night! I’m going to go get some dinner and get back to blogging, card making, or scrapbooking! I’ll let you know which!

Blessings, June
