Hello! TGIF!
I have been working on my second Blog hop, ever. It’s a very fun thing to do! This one is from a facebook group I found called Global Stamping Friends. People from all over the world participate and I am honored to be one of them for this Colour Challenge! (Love the English spelling of Colour, so fun!)
So, let me tell you the details…
Here are the colors I needed to use. And they are perfect for the card I needed to make for my brother’s birthday coming up in September! A nice masculine assortment, if you want it to be. I did!
So, I have my colors, now what? Well, since it is his 50th, I have to use the Large Number Framelits and Number of Years stamp set…just in case he doesn’t know how old he is turning, right?!? Hahaha!
And, since it is birthday, I have to pull out my new favorite stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous! I love the balloon stamps in this set! I also pulled out some Whisper White Baker’s Twine for the balloon strings.
I used the Smokey Slate as my card base, and ran it through the Big Shot in the Softly Falling embossing folder! It really needed more back ground texture and that is a favorite of mine as well. I put it in sideways, so it isn’t really falling. Yes, I have a lot of favorites when it comes to Stampin’ Up! stuff! Can you tell?
I used Pool Party, not a favorite for a change. I am not a big user of Subtle colors, yet I like how it added some pop to this card. The Layering Ovals Framelits came in handy for the the background for the numbers. Night of Navy is a popular color for me to use and helps to show off the Pool Party.
I kept this card simple and to the point! My brother is not really into fancy crazy stuff unless it is food. He is a food photographer, and loves to eat and cook! If you are interested you can find his work at Shoot What You Eat. You’ll need a cloth to clean up your drool from seeing all the yumminess! LOL!
Anyway, back to his card, I got sidetracked and I am not even hungry!
I am pleased with how this turned out. I am also very excited to be part of this blog! Thank you to the Global Stamping Friends for including me in this blog hop! I look forward to more in the future!
Thank you for “hopping” by! Enjoy your journey!
Blessings, June
