Patriotic Birthday Card

Good Morning!

Yesterday I had to whip up a birthday card for the neighbor boy across the street that wants to be President some day! He was having a Patriotic Birthday Party! My son was invited. We gave him 2 books on President Lincoln, one of his favorite Presidents. His cake was a decorated as the American flag, so in keeping with that theme, I made this card for him. He turned 8.

I used a number of stamps from different sets. I started with Real Red cardstock for the base and Whisper White to stamp on. I used the Dapper Denim for the blue, and Real Red for the swash. The swash came from Work of Art, the star came from an old camping set called Under the Stars that I had on my counter, since I am working on a camping gift album. The ‘For You’ came from a Paper Pumpkin set, August or September of this year. I distressed the Whisper White cardstock with the Dapper Denim using a dauber.

I just kept it simple and stayed within the theme of his party. I like how it came out!
