Hello!
This was a really cool card that I pinned on Pinterest and then later came across the You Tube video when I was watching some Stampin’ Up! videos. It was evening, I was home alone, so I thought, “I should just make this with her right now!” And I did! The “her” is Jan B. from the UK. I have seen a few of her videos over the past year. She made hers with flowers and butterflies, but I needed a masculine birthday card for another brother-in-law. Yes, my husband has a few brothers. I missed 1 of them this year…as well as a few other friends, but have really been making an effort to get cards out every month!
This card is called the Double Z and is really quite easy! I’ll post the measurements for the card stock at the end of this post.
I will be changing a few things when I make my next one. For example…I would start with a bigger card since the balloons are so big or use a different stamp set with smaller balloons. Then, on the front where the white strip is, I think I would go ahead and stamp the banners across there as well. On my card, it looks too blank. I would also put the patterned paper under the banner on the inside where it is all white currently. You can’t really write there, so I think the patterned paper would look better. I would also only use 1 stamp on the top to give myself some writing space, or use white on the other side where the balloon is. Although, really, there isn’t a need to write much and the starkness of the white would probably throw it all off. Of course, her card used different colors and had a different theme, so really, it just depends on what you want from this card. As a simple birthday card, this works for me…with the banner stamped on the front, I would be completely happy!
The measurements for this card are all in inches. If you need the metric measurements, or want to see the original, you will want to go look Jan B. up on You Tube here.
The stamp set I used is called Celebrate Today, which you can find HERE. For the inside blurb, I used some retired stamp sets, however, I am sure you can find something in your stash or on the website that you could use.

- base color scraps for layering (I used for making the balloons)
- a 2nd matching solid color for layering (I used this to make the other color balloons)
I challenge you to make this card and let me know how yours turns out! I am always curious as to what others create! I like to be the foundation and bring an idea to you and then see what you end up creating!
I’m going to make some more and see what I come up with! I’ll post the others for inspiration! Enjoy!! Have fun!
